Biography
Professor Prakesh Shah, MD, is Pediatrician-in-Chief at Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, and Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, Canada. He is the Director of the Canadian Preterm Birth Network (CPTBN) and the International Network for Evaluation of Outcomes of Neonates (iNeo), leading international collaborations that benchmark outcomes of very preterm infants across 13 countries and more than 400 neonatal intensive care units to improve the quality of neonatal care.
Professor Shah's research spans neonatal–perinatal medicine, maternal–newborn health services, epidemiology, knowledge synthesis, and quality improvement. His work focuses on generating high-quality evidence to improve outcomes for newborn infants through international collaboration, population-based research, and implementation of best practices.
As a member of the Steering Committee of the International Newborn Sepsis Society, Professor Shah contributes to advancing collaborative research and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the prevention, diagnosis, and management of neonatal sepsis worldwide.
