Biography

Dr. Tobias Strunk, MD, PhD, is an academic neonatologist whose clinical and research interests focus on neonatal infection, inflammation, and neonatal immune responses.

Dr. Strunk leads a collaborative research programme dedicated to improving the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of neonatal sepsis. His research combines clinical and translational approaches to advance the understanding of neonatal host responses to infection and to develop more accurate diagnostic strategies and effective therapeutic interventions for newborn infants with suspected or confirmed sepsis.

As a member of the Steering Committee of the International Newborn Sepsis Society, Dr. Strunk contributes to advancing international collaboration and evidence-based research aimed at improving the prevention, diagnosis, and management of neonatal sepsis.
