Biography

Dr. Sagori Mukhopadhyay, MD, MMSc, is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania and an attending neonatologist at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Hospital. She completed her training in Pediatrics and Neonatal–Perinatal Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital and earned a Master of Medical Science from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr. Mukhopadhyay's research focuses on neonatal infectious diseases, with particular emphasis on improving the diagnosis, prevention, and management of neonatal sepsis. She also leads research on the neonatal microbiome, investigating the effects of early antibiotic exposure and microbial development on infant health. Her work aims to optimize evidence-based care during the neonatal period to improve both short- and long-term outcomes for newborns.

As a member of the Steering Committee of the International Newborn Sepsis Society, Dr. Mukhopadhyay contributes to advancing collaborative research and promoting innovative, evidence-based approaches to the prevention and management of neonatal sepsis.
